About Dr. Sahana Shankar Dr. Sahana Shankar is a pediatric gastroenterologist and hepatologist with 10+ years of experience. Her areas of expertise include neonatal and infantile jaundice, chronic liver failure, liver and multi-visceral transplantation, chronic diarrhea, inflammatory bowel disease, autoimmune and other chronic liver diseases. She is a life member of the Indian Academy of Pediatrics and Indian Society of Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Clinical Nutrition. She completed her training pediatric gastroenterology, hepatology and clinical nutrition at the Royal Children’s Hospital, Melbourne, Australia. During her training time, she has performed 200 liver transplants in children as part of a  multidisciplinary team. After MBBS from JSS Medical College and Hospital, Mysore, she completed MD in Pediatrics from Seth G.S. Medical College and King Edward Memorial Hospital, Mumbai. She has been awarded: European Society of Pediatric Gastroenterology, hepatology and Clinical Nutrition (ESPGHAN) young investigator Award, 2018 in Geneva, Switzerland Awarded Nestle Nutrition Institute Scholarship in Paediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Clinical nutrition, 2016 Best Outgoing Student award and Gold medal in MBBS in 2009
