About Dr. Shapna Varma Dr. Shapna Varma is working in the field of Cardiac Anaesthesia & CT ICU for more than 20 years, and she is based in Chennai. Her expertise lies in administering anaesthesia to patients undergoing cardiac surgery like CABG, valve repairs and replacements, as well as to paediatric patients undergoing complex surgery. She also administers monitored anaesthesia care for patients when they undergo cardiological procedures in the cath lab like complex angioplasty, permanent pacemaker insertions or ASD/VSD/PDA device insertions, etc. Under her credit, there are numerous national and international publications and she is actively invited as a guest speaker in scientific meetings, CME’s, worldwide conferences to talk about the importance of cardiac anaesthesia. Dr. Varma has a lifetime membership of IACTA and Indian Society of Anaesthesia.
