Dr Stephen Boyle

About

Dr Stephen Boyle is a renowned Consultant Rheumatologist based in Edinburgh and Dundee who specialises in psoriatic arthritis, inflammatory arthritis and rheumatoid arthritis alongside ankylosing spondylitis, connective tissue disease and vasculitis. He privately practises at Spire Edinburgh Hospitals Murrayfield and Shawfair Park and Tayside Complete Health. 

Dr Boyle, is an honorary senior clinical lecturer at the University of Edinburgh, is highly qualified. He completed his undergraduate training in South Africa where he was awarded an MB ChB from the University of Natal in 2001. He then went on to speciality training in rheumatology and general internal medicine in Edinburgh. Dr Boyle then received his MRCP (UK) in 2009 and was admitted as a fellow of the RCPE in 2018.

Dr Boyle is actively involved in clinical research in psoriatic arthritis and has had his work published in various peer-reviewed journals. Dr Boyle is also committed to teaching, and as well as his lecturer role, he is an examiner for final year medical student exams and a PACES examiner for the RCPE.

Dr Boyle is a member of both the British Society of Rheumatology and Scottish Society of Rheumatology.
