Subroto Paul, MD, MPH, is a fellowship trained, board certified Thoracic Surgeon and serves as Chief of Thoracic Surgery for Lenox Hill Hospital. He specializes in the minimally invasive surgical treatment of lung and esophageal disease, including lung cancer, esophageal cancer, and other benign and malignant thoracic disorders.

As a surgeon that embraces the multi-disciplinary approach to patient care, Dr. Paul strives to carefully explain all diagnostic and therapeutic options available. Dr. Paul’s approach encourages patients to become involved in their own care to ensure they receive the most advanced care possible. He partners collaboratively with other members of the care team including pulmonologists, gastroenterologists, oncologists, radiologists, pathologists, and radiation oncologists.

Dr. Paul received his undergraduate education from Yale University. He then earned his medical degree from Harvard Medical School and completed both his General Surgery residency and Thoracic Surgery fellowship at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, a Harvard Medical School affiliate. He has also completed a Master of Public Health from Columbia University.

Dr. Paul has been rated as one of New York Magazine’s Best Doctors and has published more than 100 peer-reviewed articles in thoracic surgery.
