About Dr. Sureshan Sivananthan Dr. Sureshan Sivananthan is a leading and an internationally-trained Orthopaedic & Joint Replacement Surgeon with +15 years of experience. He is a professional member of several medical societies some of which are, American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the American Academy of Hip and Knee Surgeons, the Orthopaedic Research Society, the British Orthopaedic Association and the Malaysian Orthopaedic Association. He is also on the board of the Asia Pacific Orthopaedic Association and the Organizing Committee of SICOT 2022. He did his medical schooling in the UK, and specialist training in the UK and the US. He also did a few diplomas, fellowships, and a certification. Dr. Sivananthan has surgical expertise in various orthopedic procedures such as, TKR, revision TKR, ACL reconstruction, revision THR, primary hip replacement, stem cell/PRP treatment and total shoulder replacement. He also treats lower back pain.  He also performs arthroscopic ‘key-hole’ surgeries and joint sparing surgeries. His group was among the first in the world to publish a series on Minimal Invasive Joint Replacement Surgery at the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons Meeting, New Orleans, USA  in February 2003. Dr. Sivananthan has perfomed +5,000 procedures on the hip, knee and shoulder joints over the past 15 years. He holds several patents in medical device technologies and tissue engineering techniques granted in the US.  He is also actively involved in teaching, administration and research. He has won a few awards too. He has co-authored and authored several publications, books and book chapters.
