About Dr. Vinay Kumaran Dr. Vinay Kumaran is a Hepatobiliary and Pancreatic Surgeon with 30+ years of experience. He has many firsts to his credit such as the first dual lobe living donor liver transplant in India, first living donor domino liver transplant in India, first combined liver and kidney living donor transplant in India, first paired donor exchange in India, first living donor intestinal transplant in India and first successful living donor cavo-portal transposition in an adult in India. He is the author and editor of the book “Techniques of Liver Surgery”. He did a fellowship for multi-organ transplant at Thomas E Starzl Transplantation Institute at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. He along with his team has invented some of the crucial techniques in living donor liver transplantation with some of the best outcomes. Dr. Kumaran completed his training in the liver, pancreas, kidney, intestinal and multi-visceral transplants in adults as well as pediatric patients. He was Research Associate in Marion Bessin Liver Research Institute of the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, New York.
