About Dr. Winston Chew Yoon Chong Dr. Winston Chew Yoon Chong is a well-known Orthopedic Surgeon with expertise in managing several orthopedic conditions. He has nearly 28+ years of experience and specializes in the management of fractures of the distal radius and hand, wrist conditions, arthroscopy of the wrist and small joints of the hand, reconstruction for deformities of rheumatoid and degenerative arthritis including a total joint replacement for the wrist and fingers. After completing his basic medical degree in 1989, he pursued higher surgical qualifications including MMed (Surgery), FRCS (Edinburgh), and FRCS (Glasgow). After completing his advanced surgical training in Orthopedics, he became a specialist in Orthopedic Surgery and a member of the Academy of Medicine, Singapore in 2001. He was honored with the Ministry of Health’s Health Manpower Development Plan (HMDP) scholarship to train in Hand and Microsurgery at the prestigious Christine M Kleinert Institute for Hand and Microsurgery / Kleinert-Kutz Hand Care Center in Louisville, Kentucky, USA. He was one of the two surgeons who was registered as a Specialist in Orthopedic and Hand surgery. He was instrumental in establishing the Hand and Microsurgery Section in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at Tan Tock Seng Hospital. He has been honored with several awards and recognitions including the “Top 10 Teachers” award by Tan Tock Seng Hospital in 2007-2008 and 2008-2009, the “Outstanding Teacher Award” in Orthopaedics undergraduate teaching by NUS in 2009-2010, etc. He has written over 26 articles in peer-reviewed journals and authored five book chapters in Hand Surgery.
