About

Miss Harleen K Deol is an esteemed consultant oncoplastic and breast surgeon based in Hertfordshire. She specialises in the diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer, including breast reconstruction. She is also an expert when it comes to breast pain, breast MRI, as well as breast lumps, and is currently practising at a host of different locations, including the Harpenden-based Spire Harpenden Hospital, the Pinehill Hospital in Horley, and the Rivers Hospital in Sawbridgeworth, but to mention a few.

Miss Deol qualified from Barts & the Royal London School of Medicine (University of London) in 1997, before impressively becoming the first woman to enter the Royal London Hospital General Surgical Rotation in over 20 years. She then completed further senior specialist general surgical training on the North-East Thames rotation, followed by a paediatric surgery fellowship at the Royal London Children’s Hospital. She went on to specialise in breast surgery, which involved extensive training in numerous London Breast Units and the Royal Marsden Hospital (Sutton). She was then awarded a prestigious British Association of Surgical Oncology Oncoplastic Breast Surgery National Fellowship.

Miss Deol has presented her research both nationally and internationally, and has notably authored a chapter in a surgical oncology textbook. She is actively involved in training junior surgeons and medical students, including teaching women’s health, breast surgery, general surgery, and how to communicate clearly with patients. Notably, she was elected chairwoman for the Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire Breast Network Cancer Group in 2015.
