Ms Sandra McAllister is a highly-experienced consultant plastic surgeon in Belfast, where she specialises mostly in a variety of skin cancer and soft tissue sarcoma. She presently practises with the Belfast Skin Clinic.

Ms McAllister received her primary medical qualification in 1999 from Queens University of Belfast, where she subsequently completed her core surgical training. She later spent two years in Toronto as a research fellow at the University of Toronto. In 2007, Ms McAllister was awarded a Doctor of Medicine degree due to her research work from Queen University of Belfast. She trained in plastic surgery in Belfast and Dublin, where she was an academic clinical lecturer at Queen’s University undertaking further research into wound healing. Additionally, Ms McAllister practised as a senior oncoplastic fellow in the Welsh Unit for Burns & Plastic Surgery.

In 2017, Ms McAllister was awarded the Hunter Doig Medal by The Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh due to her dedication and quality of research, clinical, and dedication to surgical education. She has been published in a wide variety of peer-reviewed journals, as well as having chapters published in scientific books. Ms McAllister maintains an active research interest and continues to research in her special interests, alongside her commitment to education in her field.
