About

Mr Bijan Beigi is a revered consultant opthalmologist who specialises in ocular adnexal, as well as eyelid and mid-face reconstructive surgery. Mr Beigi treats patients in Norwich and London.  With over 25 years of professional experience, he is an expert in all areas of ophthalmology, notably the treatment of eyelid cancer and lumps, in addition to oculofacial plastic and cosmetic surgery, blepharoplasty, mid-face lifts, and brow lifts

After achieving his first medical qualification in 1980, Mr Beigi undertook ten years of extensive training in several esteemed Irish and UK hospitals, including the Bristol Eye Hospital, in general, oculoplastic, and paediatric ophthalmology. He has also completed three fellowships in Oculoplastic, Paediatric Ophthalmology, and Neuro-ophthalmology both in the UK and abroad.

Mr Beigi is one of only a handful of orbital surgeons in the UK. He specialises in eyelid and mid-face cosmetic and reconstructive surgery and has performed over 12,000 operations. He also treats common eye diseases and is skilled in advanced cosmetic work of the eyelid and mid-face. He has pioneered surgical procedures, like radio-frequency suture-less entropion surgery. He is the lead of the ocular adnexal service at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital. His principal in surgery is the restoration of normal anatomy through the use of procedures that have been proven effective and safe.

In addition to his clinical work, Mr Beigi is a tutor, lead trainer, examiner, and external clinical advisor for the Royal College of Ophthalmologists and an honourary senior lecturer at the University of East Anglia. He has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications and updates from the Royal College of Ophthalmologists on thyroid eye disease and the management of watery eyes, and has also presented at over 100 lectures and seminars.

Thanks to his wealth of knowledge and experience, he is a special advisor to the National Institute of Clinical Excellence (NICE) for new surgical procedures in the UK and a clinical adviser to the Healthcare Commission. He is a fellow of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists and Surgeons and holds memberships in both the American and the European Society of Ophthalmic Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery. He is a founding member of the British Oculoplastic Society (BOPSS).
