Mr Vamsi Velchuru is a highly experienced and skilled consultant general, laparoscopic, and colorectal surgeon who specialises in colorectal surgery, emergency surgery, advanced laparoscopic surgery, hernia surgery, fistula surgery, haemorrhoids, proctology, as well as gastrointestinal endoscopy. He currently privately practises at the East Point Consulting Rooms, which is based at and part of the Great Yarmouth-based James Paget University Hospital

Mr Velchuru, who has gained an extensive amount of experience in clinical research, medical education, as well as clinical supervision thus far in his impressive professional medical career, is also the current quality improvement lead and foundation year programme director at the James Paget University Hospital. Not only that, but he is also the medical school lead at Norwich Medical School. 

In terms of education, Mr Velchuru qualified from the prestigious JJM Medical College in 1992 with an MBBS, before being granted a fellowship in minimally invasive and robotic colorectal surgery at the world-renowned UIC Medical Centre in Chicago, which he successfully completed in 2012. He was a SAS tutor at the James Paget University Hospital from 2014 and 2019, and was appointed as consultant general, laparoscopic, and colorectal surgeon at said hospital in 2017.
