About Prof. Bae Sung Uk Prof. Bae Sung Uk is a General Surgeon with +10 years of experience in performing colorectal surgeries.  Prof. Uk is a member of the Korean Surgical Society, the Korean Society of Surgical Oncology, Korean Society of Coloproctology, the Korean Association of Robotic Surgeons and the Korean Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy. Prof. Uk holds membership of international medical societies such as, the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons, European Association for Endoscopic Surgery, European Society of Coloproctology and the Clinical Robotic Surgery Association. He completed his MD in 2004 from the Young Nam University College of Medicine. In 2008, he did his General Surgery Residency at the Eulji University Hospital. Here, he also completed his M.S  Prof. Uk has served in the Armed Forces of Cambodia as a KOICA International Cooperation Doctor.  Prof. Uk’s research interests include molecular biomarkers for chemo-radio sensitivity of colorectal cancer, microbiome and colorectal cancer, extended lymphadenectomy for advanced colorectal cancer and robotic surgery. He is an expert at performing appendectomy, laparoscopic surgery and hemicolectomy.  He has been conferred with several awards and fellowships. He has written several research papers.
