About Prof. Dr. Andreas Mackensen Prof. Dr. Andreas Mackensen is a Hematologist-Oncologist in Germany with a thriving experience of over 29+ years. He has been the spokesman and head of the clinical research group KFO146, DFG, and also Co-speaker of the Transregio SFB TRR221, DFG. He received his medical education at the Albert Ludwig University of Freiburg from 1981 to 1988 and trained to become a Medical-Technical Laboratory Assistant in 1981. Dr. Mackensen in 1990 received the Young Investigator Award from the International Association for Endotoxin Research, San Diego, and the Vincenz Czerny Prize from the German Society of Hematology and Oncology, Vienna in 1994. His areas of interest are the treatment of leukemia and lymphoma, stem cell transplant (autologous, allogenic & umbilical cord blood transplant), bleeding disorders, blood clots, anemia, etc. He has written for national and international journals along with attending seminars globally.
