About Prof. Dr. Joachim Spranger Prof. Dr. Joachim Spranger is an Endocrinologist, practicing successfully for more than 24 years. He is an active member of the commissions for Nutrition, Dietetic Products, New Foods & Allergies, Genetically Modified Food and Feed of the Federal Institute for Risk Assessment since 2008, and the German Diabetes Society for Nutrition and Diabetes Mellitus since 2007. He did his graduation in human medicine at the Ruhr University Bochum and at the University of Newcastle upon Tyne (GB) from 1990 till 1996. He worked as a Research Assistant at the German Institute for Human Nutrition Potsdam and in the Department of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Nutritional Medicine, Charité University Medicine Berlin, Campus Benjamin Franklin, Berlin until 2007. His specialty includes managing all complications of diabetes including diabetic foot, neuropathy, end-organ damage like nephropathy, etc. Dr. Spranger has published and co-authored in more than 50 publications in reputed International and National journals.
