About Prof. Dr. Johann Pratschke Prof. Dr. Johann Pratschke is a well-known Surgical Oncologist with 20+ years of experience in the field. He held various board positions including the founding member and scientific advisory board of the Basic Science Committee (BSC), an advisory board for the European Pancreas Society (EPITA) & Liver Transplant Society (ELITA) He has also acted as the conference president of the ESOT Congress 2013 in Vienna and been the President of EPITA since 2013. Furthermore, he as a member of the Transplantation Society (TTS). He studied human medicine at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich from 1987 to 1994 and later received his doctorate in 1997 at the Institute for Surgical Research on the subject of organ transplantation. From 1997 to 1999, he researched and worked in the field of transplant surgery during a two-year research stay at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital of Harvard Medical School in Boston, Massachusetts, USA. Prof. Pratschke has received numerous German and international research awards in the field of organ transplantation and surgery. His main interests are transplant surgery, minimally invasive surgery, tumor surgery & oncological surgery. He and his team are leaders in the world of the implementation of complex laparoscopic operations (keyhole technology). He has written various research-based articles in national and international publications.
