About Prof. Dr. med. Michael Hans Frank Schweigert Prof. Dr. med. Michael Hans Frank Schweigert is a thoracic surgeon with 18+ years of experience. His clinical focus includes robotic thymectomy, minimally invasive thoracic surgery, Uniportal thoracoscopy, interventional bronchoscopy, thoracic wall and diaphragm tumors. He completed graduation from Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen followed by PhD from Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen. Dr. Schweigert is a member of Central German Society for Pneumology and Thoracic Surgery (MDGP), German Society for Thoracic Surgery (DGT), European Society of Thoracic Surgeons (ESTS) and German Society for General and Visceral Surgery (DGAV). He has received numerous awards, amongst them are: Lecture Award of the German Society for General and Visceral Surgery, Congress Visceral Medicine in Leipzig – 2015 Travel grant from the Association of Bavarian Surgeons, annual conference in Bad Kissingen – 2014 Thoracic Poster Prize of the Society for Cardiothoracic Surgery in Great Britain & Ireland, Annual Meeting in Brighton – 2013 Nomination for the Otto Götze Prize of the Association of Bavarian Surgeons – 2012 and 2013 Prize for clinical research in surgery awarded by the Dr. Hans and Dr. Elisabeth Birkner Foundation – 2010
