About Prof. Dr. med. Tsvetomir Loukanov Prof. Dr. med. Tsvetomir Loukanov is a pediatric cardiac surgeon with 22+ years of experience. His forte is cardiac surgery using the hybrid procedure, beating heart surgery, vascular compression syndromes of the intrathoracic trachea, valve reconstruction, univentricular heart, aortic arch and tracheal surgery and congenital heart defects. He has 60+ publications under his name in peer-reviewed journals. He got certification for pediatric cardiac surgery from the German Society for Thoracic, Cardiac and Vascular Surgery. Dr. Loukanov did a congenital heart surgery training course at Harvard Medical University, Boston. He is a member of the European Association for Cardiac and Thoracic Surgery EACTS, German Society for Thoracic, Cardiac and Vascular Surgery DGTHG, Bulgarian Academy of Sciences and European Union for Surgical Oncology ESSO. He did graduation from the Medical University of Pleven, Bulgaria and PhD from Rupprecht – Karls Universität Heidelberg.
