About Prof. Dr. Roland M. Schmid Prof. Dr. Roland M. Schmid is a renowned Medical Gastroenterologist with 35+ years in the field. He has professional membership of the German Society of Internal Medicine, German Society for the Advances in Internal Medicine. The German Society for Gastroenterology and Metabolic Diseases, Society of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, European Pancreas Club, International Association of Pancreatology, American Gastroenterological Association, American Pancreatic Association, American College of Physicians, and many more. He has won several awards such as the Ludwig Heilmeyer Medal (silver), German Society for the Advances in Internal Medicine, Cologne, Wolf Boas Prize, German Society for Gastroenterology & Metabolic Diseases, Salzburg, etc. He has studied medicine at the University of Ulm in 1979 and received his Doctor’s degree (Doctor of Medicine) in the Subject: “Influence of glucose, insulin, and opiates on neuroendocrine regulation of the stomach” (summa cum laude) in 1987.
