About Prof. Dr. Thomas Klockgether With 28+ years of experience, Prof. Dr. Thomas Klockgether is a neurologist known for handling complex cases with ease. His clinical interest includes treatment of Parkinson’s disease, cerebrovascular disease, multiple sclerosis and headache disorders. He studied medicine at the University of Göttingen, Germany and also carried out research on Parkinson’s disease at the Max Planck Institute. After graduation, Prof. Klockgether went to Oldenburg for clinical training and completed his specialist training in degenerative ataxias at Tübingen. He has been Speaker of the Zentrum für seltene Erkrankungen Bonn (ZSEB) and is Director of Clinical Research at the DZNE. Prof. Klockgether has received numerous awards, including the C3‐Schilling professorship for theoretical and clinical medicine and the “Holmes Prize” of the Fondation de l’Ataxie cérébelleuse (FAC). He holds several scientific roles – coordinator of the clinical part of the EU-funded project EUROSCA, speaker of the DFG Research Group “Innate Immunity”, coordinator of the European RISCA project (E‐Rare program) and speaker of the Ataxia Study Group (ASG).
