He has completed his education from the University Medical Centers Essen and Mannheim, Germany, and also UNC-Chapel Hill, the USA from 1992 to 2006. He has a special interest in Hepatology, Infectious diseases, Interventional endoscopy, Inflammatory bowel diseases, Viral hepatitis, chronic liver disease, and liver cirrhosis, Acute & chronic pancreatitis, Gastrointestinal oncology, etc. He has attended various workshops and conferences and given guest lecturers in Germany as well as abroad.
