About Prof. Dr. Uwe Heemann Prof. Dr. Uwe Heemann is a prominent Nephrologist with 34+ years of experience in the field. He is the Chairman of the Eurotransplant Kidney Advisory Committee; Doctor Honoris Causa, Semmelweis University, Budapest, Hungary; Board Member of Eurotransplant (European bank of organs, tissues & blood), and former President of the German Society of Transplantology. He completed his Study of Medicine at the Ruhr University Bochum in 1986, and a Doctorate from St. Johannisstift Paderborn in 1989.
