About Prof. Dr. Volker Budach Prof. Dr. Volker Budach is a well-experienced Radiation Oncologist with more than 36 years in the field. He is an Active Member of the American Society for Radiation Oncology (ASTRO), American Society for Clinical Oncology (ASCO), European Society for Radiation Oncology (ESTRO), German Society for Radiation Oncology (DEGRO), German Cancer Society (DKG) European Organisation for Research and Treatment in Cancer (EORTC), etc. He was the Founding member of the Interdisciplinary Head and Neck Group of the German Cancer Society (DKG), and Chairman of the Tumour Centre Berlin, EORTC-Radiooncology Group (ROG), and ROG Working Party on Head and Neck Cancer. He was an MD-student at the Universities of Heidelberg and Kiel in 1972 and completed his training in Radiation Oncology and Diagnostic Radiology at the Departments of Diagnostic Radiology and Radiation Oncology, West German Tumour Centre, University of Essen, Essen, Germany in 1980. Dr. Budach holds expertise in treating VMAT (volumetrically modulated arc therapy), IMRT (Intensity Modulated Radiotherapy, Stereotactic, CyberKnife, Novalis, Tomotherapy, Image-guided irradiation, Brachytherapy, IORT (intraoperative radiotherapy), etc. He has written well-researched articles and papers at many national and international peer-reviewed journals.
