About Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Stremmel Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Stremmel is a Medical Gastroenterologist with experience of more than 40+ years. He studied medicine and completed his graduation from the University of Cologne in 1970. he later switched to internal medicine and gastroenterology at the University of Düsseldorf in 1978. Additionally, he was sponsored by the German Research Council (DFG) a Research Fellowship at the Mt. Sinai School of Medicine, N.Y.C., USA. He was awarded the highly recognized Gottfried Leipzig Research Program, the Thannhauser Decoration of the Germany Gastroenterological Association (DGVS), and he also received an honorary doctorate from the University of Tiflis, Georgia. He has a special interest in Hepatology (liver disease), Gastroenterology (diseases of the digestive organs), Intensive care, Hepatobiliary, gastrointestinal & neuroendocrine tumor diseases, Diagnostic, and interventional endoscopy. He has published over 600 original articles in peer-reviewed journals.
