About Prof. Hugo A.Katus Prof. Hugo A.Katus is a prominent Interventional Cardiologist with experience of 40+ years in the field. He is a reputed member of various organizations such as the International Society for Heart Research; American Heart Association, Basic Science; Deutsche Gesellschaft für Herz- und Kreislaufforschung; Deutsche Gesellschaft für Innere Medizin; etc. He is also a Fellow of the European Society of Cardiology and American College of Cardiology. He has completed his Medical School at the University of Heidelberg in 1970 and did an M.D. Degree at the University of Heidelberg in 1976. He also has trained in Internal Medicine at the University Hospital of Heidelberg in 1976 and was a Research Fellow at the Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard Medical School, Boston from 1978 to 1980. He is a highly skilled interventionist with vast experience in peripheral artery interventions and routinely performs device closures for congenital heart diseases such as ASD, VSD, and PDA. Dr. Katus has 1270 original articles, 42 book articles, and 33 patents to his credit. He is also the co-editor of Clinical Research in Cardiology, the official scientific journal of the German Cardiac Society.
