About Prof. Jurgen Debus Prof. Jurgen Debus is a Heidelberg-based Radiation Oncologist​ with 32 years in the field.  He is a reputed member of the Scientific council of the German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ), German Radiation Society, German Cancer Society German Society for Radiation Oncology, European Society for Radiation Oncology (ESTRO), American Society for Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology (ASTRO), etc. He is also a member of the “Gemeinsamer Bundesausschuss”; scientific council for Clinical and basic research of the German cancer aid (Krebshilfe); “Ausschuss Protonen: Strahlenschutzkommission“; and “Research Committee“ of the University Hospital Heidelberg. He completed his studies in Medicine and Physics at the University of Heidelberg in 1984, an M.D. from the University of Heidelberg in 1993, and Habilitation in Medicine from the Faculty of Medicine, University of  Heidelberg; Associate Professor for Radiation-Oncology in 1997. His specialty lies in areas such as MR imaging methods in oncology, Interventional Magnetic Resonance Imaging (Technologies for minimally invasive interventions in the MR), MRT-Technologies, MRI with ultra-short echo times, etc. Prof. Debus has 247 publications in peer-reviewed journals, 187 contributions in books and he is an editor of 2 textbooks.
