About Prof. Lutz E. Pillunat Prof. Lutz E. Pillunat is a well-known Ophthalmologist with 30+ years of experience. He has been a member of the German Ophthalmological Society, Association of ophthalmologists in Germany, German Society for Intraocular Lens Implantation (DGII), Association for Research in Vision and of Ophthalmology (ARVO), American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO), European Glaucoma Society (EGS), International Glaucoma Society (IGS), and Italian Glaucoma Society (honorary membership). He studied human medicine at the University of Düsseldorf in 1977 and later studied psychology in 1978 at the same university. Additionally, he received a Glaucoma Fellowship at the “Bascom Palmer Eye Institute” of the University of Miami, Miami USA (DFG grant) in 1993. His areas of interest include Ophthalmology, Squint, Retinopathy of prematurity, Glaucoma, Eye trauma, General Ophthalmology, etc. Dr. Pillunat serves as a reviewer for many peer-reviewed journals and has published more than 160 articles and 6 books.
