Professor Adrian Harvey is a leading consultant orthopaedic surgeon who specialises in all aspects of knee surgery, including sports surgery, arthroscopic knee surgery, ligament reconstruction and knee replacement. He has performed over 2,000 ACL reconstructions and has 20 years of experience including uni knee replacement, revision knee replacement and robotic-assisted surgeries.
He trained at University College London and on the Wessex orthopaedic training programme. In the latter part of his training, he underwent specialist training in knee surgery and arthroscopic surgery in Perth, western Australia, as well as training in ski injuries in Switzerland.
Professor Harvey is a fellow of The Royal College of Surgeons of England and is a specialist in orthopaedic and trauma surgery. He is a member of the British Association for Surgery of the Knee. Professor Harvey works as a consultant orthopaedic surgeon at University Hospital Dorset NHS Trust.
He has been a consultant surgeon for 20 years. He is the senior knee surgeon at Bournemouth. He is involved in the development of new techniques in both replacement and arthroscopic knee surgery, including the European design team project for Limacorporate’s Physica system which incorporated design of a modern knee replacement.
For the last 20 years, Professor Harvey has trained international fellows in knee speciality. He has been a tutor on a number of surgical courses and was a surgical tutor for the Royal College of Surgeons, involved in the training of surgeons in arthroscopic knee surgery and in knee replacement surgery for arthritis. He has published a variety of papers relating to knee surgery and is a visiting professor at the Engineering Department at Bournemouth University.
