Professor Muzzammil Nusrath is an exceptionally revered consultant oral and maxillofacial surgeon who specialises primarily in oral, head and neck cancers. He also possesses a high level of expertise in facial reconstruction, facelift, facial trauma and paralysis, as well as salivary gland surgery and blepharoplasty. His main areas of research interest lie in ameloblastoma, 3D custom-made reconstruction, oral cancer, as well as microvascular free flap reconstruction. 

The esteemed Professor Nusrath, who currently practices privately at the established BMI The Park Hospital, possesses an extensive amount of experience in ablation and complex reconstructive surgeries in relation to head and neck cancers in particular. Incorporating the use of the very latest and most up-to-date techniques and technologies, Professor Nusrath prioritises providing his patients with the most effective long-term survival as well as excellent functional outcomes. 

He obtained both a bachelor’s and master’s degree in dentistry at well-established Indian universities, before going on to successfully completed a bachelor of medicine and surgery degree at the University of Leicester. Following his studies, the revered Professor Nusrath then undertook specialist training in oral and maxillofacial surgery throughout various different high-calibre hospitals in the UK’s North East, which was proceeded by him being awarded with two travelling fellowships to train at the Plastic Surgery Unit of Singapore General Hospital in Singapore and also the head and neck unit at the world-renowned and highly prestigious MD Anderson Cancer Centre, Texas, USA. 

Impressively, Professor Nusrath is dual-specialised and doubly qualified in the areas of medicine and dentistry respectively, and currently holds the position as consultant oral and maxillofacial surgeon/head and neck oncology surgeon at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals. He is also a senior lecturer at the University of Sheffield, and possesses a notable and honorary appointment as an oral and maxillofacial surgery professor at the prestigious University of Dhaka in Bangladesh.
