About of Chungnam National University Hospital
- Chungnam National University Hospital (CNUH) was established in 1972 and has come a long way in fulfilling the needs of the current healthcare scenario through its latest healthcare technologies, theories, and principles along with advanced business management. It aims to become a “competitive hospital,” “patient-oriented hospital,” and “specialised hospital.”
- Being a multispeciality Hospital, it has 33 Medical departments and 17 Specialised Centres. It is also the largest hospital in central Korea.
- It is the first Centre for rheumatoid and degenerative arthritis to be designated by the Ministry of Health and Welfare. It has comprehensive facilities for rehabilitation therapy including Korea’s one and only underwater exercise facilities as well as anti-gravity treadmills. There are outdoor trails and an outdoor sports field for rehabilitation and therapy for arthritis patients.
- CNUH was the first hospital in the Daejeon and Chungcheong-do area to successfully perform kidney transplantation from a living donor to a patient with kidney failure in 1986. Since then, it has been performing many kidney and liver transplants each year.
- Its Dialysis Centre was designated as an “Excellent Dialysis Unit” by the Korean Society of Nephrology having specialised and systematic patient care and management including dialysis, nursing, education for patients as well as nutrition, vascular, drug administration management.
- CNUH is also equipped with state-of-the-art medical facilities like PET-CT, Tomotherapy, Gamma Knife etc to fulfill its mission of quality healthcare.
